The Stawell Apex Arboretum was a community project to rehabilitate the western area of Big Hill after the mining boom in the 1800's. I believe that the Apex Club once maintained it, but sadly it is neglected now. With some love and care, it could once again be a fantastic place to spend sometime. The trees are over 50 years old now. Some suffered from our recent drought, so there are areas that need to be replanted.
There are several Ironbark trees planted throughout the Arboretum.
This is one of my favorites. The higher part of the tree has begun flowering.
